“Every Resource is Mobilized!” – President’s Spokesperson on Flood Defense Measures in Malé

In response to heavy rainfall that inundated several streets of Malé today, government agencies have united to implement immediate flood mitigation measures. Collaborative efforts are underway to drain accumulated water and strategically place sandbags, aiming to alleviate the challenges posed by the monsoon season.

President’s Office Spokesperson Heena Waleed emphasized the administration’s commitment to citizen welfare during this period. She stated that all relevant government agencies are working in unison to monitor the situation closely and provide necessary assistance to those affected.

The Maldives Meteorological Service has issued an orange alert for the central Maldives, including Malé City, indicating severe weather conditions with potential for flooding. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and adhere to safety guidelines during this time.
