FENAKA Assigned to Finish Water and Sewerage Infrastructure in Three Islands

By Hussain Shinan Published March 14, 2025

The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has awarded FENAKA Corporation a significant contract to complete ongoing water and sewerage projects in three islands.

The agreement was formalized in a signing ceremony, with Minister of State Hassan Rasheed representing the Ministry, and FENAKA’s Managing Director Major (Rtd) Mohamed Najah signing on behalf of the corporation.

The islands included in the project are Shaviyani Maaungoodhoo, Shaviyani Narudhoo, and Noonu Lhohi. These areas had previously begun water and sewerage system projects, which were initially contracted to Static Company Private Limited, Altech Maldives, and Saas e Construction Private Limited. However, due to incomplete works, FENAKA has now been tasked with finalizing and ensuring the delivery of the essential services.

This move is part of the government’s continued efforts to improve infrastructure and living standards in the country, with FENAKA’s involvement expected to accelerate the completion of these vital systems. The corporation will now oversee the completion of these long-awaited projects, ensuring the communities have reliable access to water and proper sewage facilities.
