Maldives Launches Twin Liverpool FC Competitions for Global and Maldivian Supporters

In a dynamic fusion of football passion and tropical allure, the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), operating as Visit Maldives, has unveiled two thrilling fan competitions. These initiatives, stemming from its recent partnership with Liverpool FC, aim to captivate both global supporters and local enthusiasts with unforgettable experiences.


Global Fans: A Chance to Witness Liverpool vs. Tottenham at Anfield

For international fans, Visit Maldives is offering an opportunity to win two tickets to the Premier League clash between Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on April 27, 2025.

To enter, participants must visit the Visit Maldives Instagram page to unlock access to the competition on the myLFC Fan App. Once unlocked, users receive 100 points, the exact amount needed to join the prize draw.

The competition closes at 12:00 BST on April 18, 2025. Entries can be submitted via the myLFC Fan App, with full terms and conditions available here.


Maldivian Supporters: Show Your Reds Photo Contest

To engage local fans, Visit Maldives has launched the “Show Your Reds” photo contest, exclusively for Maldivians. Running from April 13 to 18, this contest invites fans to post a photo on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter showcasing their love for Liverpool FC.

Submissions should feature Liverpool FC gear, fan makeup, or memorabilia, and must include the hashtag #ShowYourRedsLocal and tag the relevant page or account. Participants must reside in the Maldives and follow both the official local Liverpool FC fan page and Visit Maldives.

Winners will be selected based on passion, creativity, photo quality, effort, and social engagement. The grand prize includes two tickets to the LFC vs. Tottenham match, along with return airfare to Liverpool. Accommodation is not included.


Strategic Partnership: Elevating Maldives’ Global Tourism Profile

Since announcing its global partnership with Liverpool FC, Visit Maldives has achieved over 80 million in social media reach within a week. The “Win A Holiday to Maldives” contest, launched on March 13, 2025, via the myLFC Fan App, has attracted over 50,000 entries, ranking among the app’s most engaging campaigns.

Visit Maldives enjoys prominent digital exposure on Liverpoolfc.com and the LFC App, including rotating static ads and strong promotion of the destination’s official Instagram page.

With Liverpool FC being the most socially engaged Premier League club, garnering over 1.5 billion fan interactions and commanding more than 200 million global followers, the partnership offers unmatched visibility for the Maldives tourism industry.


Future Endeavors: Merging Sport and Travel

Looking ahead, Visit Maldives plans to expand this collaboration with a series of video shoots and commercials featuring Liverpool FC players and legends. These will be followed by targeted campaigns and fan activations across the club’s digital platforms as the new season kicks off.
