In a heartfelt address at Republic Square following the inauguration of the redeveloped Izzuddin Jetty, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu urged citizens to seize the holy month of Ramadan as a pivotal moment for personal growth and national cohesion.

Emphasizing the significance of the newly refurbished Izzuddin Jetty, President Muizzu highlighted its role in honoring Maldivian culture, heritage, and craftsmanship. He called upon the nation to take pride in their Muslim identity and to resolve familial and communal disputes, fostering a spirit of unity and forgiveness.

“Progress is unattainable from the sidelines,” the President asserted, reaffirming his dedication to prioritizing both national interests and religious values above partisan differences. He emphasized that Islam advocates for proactive advancement and that collective effort is essential for the nation’s development.

Drawing inspiration from the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), President Muizzu stressed the importance of forgiveness, mending relationships, and safeguarding fellow Muslims from harm. He reminded the audience that such virtues are fundamental to complete faith and societal harmony.

As the nation embarks on the sacred journey of Ramadan, the President called on all Maldivians to engage in self-improvement and seek the blessings of Allah Almighty. He expressed confidence that these endeavors would not only enrich individual lives but also fortify the community as a whole.

The event at Republic Square marked a significant milestone, with the Izzuddin Jetty’s redevelopment symbolizing a bridge between the Maldives’ rich history and its aspirations for the future. President Muizzu’s address resonated with themes of unity, faith, and collective progress, setting a hopeful tone for the days ahead.
