President Muizzu expresses optimism for strengthened U.S.-Maldives relations under President Trump

Mohamed Muizzu, President of the Republic of Maldives, addresses the general debate of the General Assembly’s seventy-ninth session.

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu extended his congratulations to Donald Trump on his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States. President Muizzu expressed his best wishes for President Trump’s leadership during these challenging global times.

Emphasizing the longstanding partnership between the Maldives and the United States, President Muizzu stated, “The Maldives looks forward to working with the new administration to advance our shared goals for global peace and elevate our long-standing mutually beneficial bilateral partnership during this term.”

This message underscores the Maldives’ commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations and collaborating on international issues under the new U.S. administration.
