President Muizzu Kickstarts 2025 Academic Year with Powerful Call for Unity in Education

In a heartfelt message marking the commencement of the 2025 academic year, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu underscored the pivotal role of education in shaping the Maldives’ future. He emphasized that investing in children’s education is the nation’s most valuable asset.

The President reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to advancing the education sector. He detailed plans to enhance school environments by improving resources and infrastructure, providing comprehensive training for teachers, and ensuring equitable access to quality education across all islands. This initiative aims to foster achievements that will instill pride among parents and communities.

Highlighting the collaborative nature of educational advancement, President Muizzu called upon all stakeholders—educators, parents, and policymakers—to unite in elevating student performance both nationally and internationally. He urged teachers to approach their responsibilities with dedication and sincerity, and encouraged parents to actively support their children’s educational journeys. To the students, he imparted a message of diligence and virtue, emphasizing the importance of seizing educational opportunities.

In alignment with his vision for a robust educational framework, President Muizzu announced the initiation of 134 school infrastructure projects slated for this year. These projects are designed to create conducive learning environments that will benefit students nationwide. Additionally, the “Cool School” project will see the installation of air conditioning in over 3,700 government school classrooms, powered entirely by solar energy, reflecting the administration’s commitment to sustainable development.

Furthermore, the government is set to implement an advanced education management system aimed at providing parents and guardians with seamless access to vital academic and student-related information. This initiative represents a significant step towards integrating technology into the educational landscape, enhancing transparency and engagement.

President Muizzu’s comprehensive approach to education reform reflects a strategic vision aimed at nurturing a knowledgeable and skilled generation, poised to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s sustainable development.
