Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the opening of applications for its 2025 Internship Program, offering young Maldivians a chance to gain professional experience in the financial sector.
The year-long program is designed for students and recent graduates from higher education institutions across the country. Since its introduction in 2018, the initiative has trained 77 interns, with several participants securing permanent roles at the Bank.
This year, BML has expanded the program to include TechStart Internships, a dedicated track for IT students and graduates. The addition reflects the growing demand for skilled professionals in the Bank’s technology division, underscoring its commitment to digital transformation.
Internship Categories and Benefits
- Graduate Internship Program – 15 placements across various divisions and branches of the Bank.
- TechStart Internship Program – 10 placements within the Bank’s Technology Division.
Participants will gain hands-on experience in diverse business units, working alongside professionals in real operational settings. For 2025, BML has also revised its allowance structure, with graduate interns receiving MVR 9,000 per month and TechStart interns earning a higher stipend of MVR 11,000 per month.

By broadening the program, BML aims to provide young professionals with valuable exposure while strengthening the talent pipeline in banking and financial services.
