President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has declared that the Maldivian economy, once inherited in a “ruined and indebted” state, is now firmly on the path to recovery under his government.
Addressing a packed gathering at PNC House, the President hailed China’s confirmation of a debt relief agreement as a historic milestone that strengthens the nation’s financial stability. He assured citizens that all external and domestic debts will be managed responsibly without burdening the people.
“Allah willing, we will never put our people in distress. Our economy is back on track — and unlike before, we are paying debts without printing money” President Muizzu said.
He further emphasized that development is taking place across every sector — health, education, housing, sports, and infrastructure — fulfilling the promises made to citizens nationwide.
“This government will uphold fairness and rule of law while securing peace, prosperity, and dignity for all Maldivians,” the President pledged.
