“November 3rd proves the courage and bravery of Maldivians. It demonstrates their love and loyalty to the nation and religion. It shows that there will always be determined children in this soil who are ready to sacrifice their lives and blood,” she wrote.
Emphasizing national solidarity, the First Lady described Maldivians as “faithful and united people” who stand firm in every national cause.

Victory Day is observed annually to commemorate November 3, 1988, when Maldivian soldiers and civilians bravely defended the country against an armed coup attempt by mercenaries.
