While Ooredoo has a long history of lighting up its headquarters for major national occasions and global observances, this is the first dedicated illumination for diabetes awareness, aligning the company with the international blue light campaign led by the International Diabetes Federation.

The initiative highlights growing concern over rising diabetes cases in the Maldives and the need for early detection and lifestyle awareness. By joining the global observance, Ooredoo aims to encourage communities to stay informed, undergo regular health checks, and adopt preventive habits.

Ooredoo has previously supported a wide range of social and health related initiatives, including community outreach programs and digital awareness campaigns. The blue lighting adds to these ongoing efforts by using a prominent visual symbol to spark public conversation on noncommunicable diseases.

The headquarters will remain lit throughout the evening as part of this year’s awareness drive, reinforcing the message of prevention and accessible healthcare for all.
