Travelution Owner Dr. Sunny Umar Alleged to Have Sexually Targeted Five Child Victims as Police Receive First Case

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 3 hours ago

Five individuals are now identified as alleged victims of tourism media figure Dr. Sunny Umar, according to family sources familiar with the matter. They state that two girls and one boy were under age at the time of the abuse, while two others, including one female victim who is now of legal age, were also assaulted when they were minors.

One of these cases has now been formally submitted to Maldives Police Service. A spokesperson for the police confirmed they have initiated inquiries based on information received through the media. The investigation is at an early stage and officers are gathering statements and evidence.

The allegations surfaced after relatives reported that Dr. Sunny verbally admitted to the abuse within the family. Shortly after the claims appeared widely on social media, he left the Maldives on Air India flight AI 2240 and is now believed to be in New Delhi. His sudden departure has intensified public suspicion that he intends to escape accountability.

Dr. Sunny is the owner of The Travel Guys Pvt Ltd, a company responsible for producing Travelution, Maldives Halal Travel, and The Island Post, along with operating a travel agency under the Maldives Halal Travel brand. His long cultivated public image as a tourism success figure has rapidly collapsed.

With five alleged victims now identified, community pressure is mounting for a decisive response from authorities. What was once a respected tourism brand now faces a growing scandal, a police case, and a fugitive owner who is accused by family sources of preying on children he should have protected.
