Male Water and Sewerage Company has contributed MVR 120,000 to the “Maldivians With Ceylon” telethon, adding strong momentum to the nationwide humanitarian effort supporting Sri Lanka as the country continues to face severe flooding, destruction and displacement caused by storm Ditwah. The donation was handed over to the telethon team by MWSC staff.
Following this contribution, total funds collected through the telethon have risen to MVR 10,743,125.84 and USD 43,631.31, marking a significant milestone in the Maldives national relief drive. Donations continue to climb rapidly as state owned enterprises, private companies and the general public unite in support of Sri Lankan families in crisis.
Organisers encourage the public to keep donating through QR scan payments, cash, cheques, bank transfers and collection boxes placed in Malé, Hulhumalé and Villimalé. Both MVR and USD accounts remain open for contributions.
