The Ooredoo Fun Run, organised by Ooredoo Maldives, was successfully held yesterday in Hulhumalé, drawing more than 7,000 participants and reaffirming its position as one of the Maldives’ most anticipated annual community events.

The run took place across Hulhumalé Phase One and Phase Two, turning the streets into a lively festival of colour, water play, and interactive obstacle challenges. Designed as an inclusive event for all age groups, colour splash zones and activity stations were set up along the route, while newly introduced obstacle sections proved particularly popular among children and young people.

The event commenced from Hulhumalé Central Park and was attended by Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan, Minister of Sports Abdulla Rafiu, Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen, along with senior officials from Ooredoo Maldives.

As part of the Fun Run programme, Ooredoo also hosted a Children’s Evening at Hulhumalé Central Park the previous day, followed by a music show featuring popular local acts including Traffic Jam, Symbolic Records, and Habeys Boduberu. The performances added a festive cultural atmosphere to the weekend activities.

The Ooredoo Fun Run is part of Ooredoo’s ongoing efforts to promote healthy living, encourage physical activity, and create shared recreational experiences for families and communities. The initiative has expanded in recent years and is now held across multiple islands nationwide, reflecting its growing reach and popularity.
With strong participation and positive public response, this year’s Hulhumalé edition further strengthened the Fun Run’s status as a flagship community engagement event in the Maldives.
