Dhiraagu has officially unveiled its Calendar 2026, themed “A Year of Marine Interconnectedness,” drawing a powerful parallel between the Maldives’ fragile ocean ecosystems and the company’s role as the nation’s digital backbone.
The calendar was launched at a dedicated event led by Dhiraagu Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Ismail Rasheed, with senior company officials and marine and environmental advocates in attendance. The event brought together stakeholders who share a common commitment to ocean conservation and sustainability.
Speaking at the unveiling, Dhiraagu’s Director of Brand and Marketing Communications, Mohamed Mirshan Hassan, said the calendar aims to spotlight the vital role of marine interconnectedness in sustaining the environment. He noted that by showcasing the intricate relationships within marine ecosystems, the initiative seeks to build awareness, responsibility, and action to protect the oceans, a core pillar of Dhiraagu’s corporate social responsibility agenda.
The Calendar 2026 features striking underwater photography celebrating the Maldives’ rich marine biodiversity. Each month focuses on specific marine species and highlights their interconnected and symbiotic relationships, built on mutual nourishment, protection, and shared habitats. These visual narratives reinforce the idea that marine life thrives through connection, mirroring the deep interdependence between Maldivians and the surrounding ocean.
Dhiraagu positioned the ocean as the Maldives’ strongest symbol of interconnectedness, likening complex marine systems such as vilu, falhu, and kandu to a living network that sustains life across the islands. This natural network, the company says, reflects how Dhiraagu’s nationwide infrastructure connects people, communities, and opportunities across the country.
As the Maldives continues to emphasize sustainability alongside digital transformation, Dhiraagu’s Calendar 2026 serves as both a visual tribute to the nation’s marine heritage and a reminder of the shared responsibility to protect it for future generations.
