Maldives Airports Company Limited has successfully concluded the VIA Blood Donation Camp 2026, a two-day initiative held on 1 February as part of the company’s ongoing corporate social responsibility programme.
The blood donation drive drew strong participation from MACL employees as well as staff from multiple organizations operating at Velana International Airport, reflecting broad support from the airport community. The initiative was organized in collaboration with and was aimed at responding to an urgent need for blood supplies.

According to MACL, the campaign was conducted following recent public appeals by Maldives Blood Services, which highlighted challenges in maintaining adequate blood reserves. The timing of the initiative was also strategically aligned with preparations for the upcoming month of Ramadan, a period when blood donations typically decline due to fasting.
By strengthening national blood reserves ahead of Ramadan, the VIA Blood Donation Camp contributed directly to supporting the country’s healthcare system during a critical period. MACL emphasized that such initiatives remain a core part of its commitment to social responsibility and community wellbeing.

Maldives Airports Company Limited noted that blood donation programmes are organized annually as part of its broader CSR agenda, reaffirming the company’s role in supporting national health and humanitarian efforts beyond its core aviation operations.
