Dhiraagu, will host its much-anticipated GudiFest this Friday evening at Usfasgandu in Malé, inviting children and families to celebrate a cherished Ramadan tradition.

The event is scheduled for 27 February 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, transforming the popular seafront venue into a vibrant gathering space for kite flying and community bonding. According to the company’s announcement issued on 24 February, every child attending the event will receive a complimentary kite, reinforcing the festival’s mission to bring families together through simple, joyful experiences.

First introduced in 2023, Dhiraagu GudiFest was designed to revive and promote the traditional practice of flying kites during Ramadan evenings. The initiative encourages children to spend more time outdoors, reconnect with local customs, and engage in healthy recreational activities during the holy month. This year, the company confirmed that GudiFest will once again be organized across various islands nationwide, expanding its cultural outreach beyond the capital.

Dhiraagu has consistently positioned Ramadan as a key period for community engagement, rolling out family-focused events, promotions, and cultural programs. Through GudiFest and similar initiatives, the telecommunications provider continues to align its brand with heritage preservation and social responsibility, highlighting the importance of sustaining Dhivehi traditions in a rapidly modernizing society.

With Usfasgandu expected to draw large crowds this Friday, families are encouraged to arrive early and take part in an evening dedicated to culture, connection, and celebration.
