Power interruption scheduled in parts of Hulhumalé this afternoon

The State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has announced a brief power interruption in parts of Hulhumalé Phase 2 this afternoon to facilitate essential maintenance work on the electricity distribution network.

According to the company, the outage is scheduled to take place between 4:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. During this 15-minute window, certain areas may experience temporary disruptions in power supply while technicians complete the necessary upgrades.

Locations expected to be affected include STO Tower, MWSC Tower, Hiyaa Towers 5 and 6, Amaan Udhares Towers 8 through 16, Amaan Dhoadhi Towers 5 to 8, Vinares Towers 9 and 10, as well as the Immigration Detention Centre.

STELCO stated that the planned work forms part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the electricity network.

Residents and businesses in the affected areas have been advised to take necessary precautions ahead of the scheduled maintenance window.
