By Hussain Shinan Published 2 hours ago

Allied Insurance Company of the Maldives has been announced as the title sponsor of the Hulhumalé Run 2026, marking a major partnership with the local running community as preparations begin for one of the country’s largest fitness events.

Organised by Elite Runners Maldives, the event will now officially be held under the name Allied Hulhumalé Run 2026, and is scheduled to take place on 22 May 2026 in Hulhumalé.

The race is expected to attract more than 2,500 participants, bringing together runners, families and fitness enthusiasts from across the Maldives in a celebration of health, endurance and community spirit.

Event organisers have introduced four race categories to accommodate participants of all ages and experience levels. These include a 1-Mile Family Run, 5KM Run, 10KM Run, and a 21.1KM Half Marathon.

The partnership reflects a shared effort between Allied Insurance and Elite Runners Maldives to promote healthier lifestyles and encourage wider participation in sporting activities.

As part of the initiative, all registered participants will receive complimentary accidental insurance coverage for race day, ensuring runners are protected throughout the event. The insurance cover will be provided without additional conditions or cost.

Allied Insurance has also announced that top performers in the race will be awarded a range of special prizes, including Allied Health Covers and Annual Travel Covers, aimed at encouraging long-term wellbeing beyond the competition itself.

Organisers say the Hulhumalé Run has grown into more than just a sporting event, evolving into a community gathering that celebrates perseverance, unity and the positive impact of an active lifestyle. With Allied Insurance stepping in as title sponsor, this year’s edition is expected to further strengthen the event’s reach and impact across the country.
