The United Islamic Society (UIS), a winner of the Bank of Maldives Fund 2025, has established a fully equipped multi-media studio at Dhaalu Atoll Education Centre (Dh. A.E.C) in Kudahuvadhoo.
UIS, a Kudahuvadhoo-based non-governmental organization, implemented the project with support from the Bank of Maldives Fund to strengthen digital media education for students and enhance the activities of the school’s Media Club.

The newly developed studio has been equipped with professional cameras, lighting kits, audio recording equipment, editing computers, and live-streaming hardware. The facility will serve as a dedicated training and production space where students can produce videos, broadcast school events, prepare reports, and create educational content for the school’s official YouTube channel.
Dhaalu Atoll Education Centre serves more than 800 students and has an active Media Club. Prior to the project, the club faced limitations due to a lack of professional media equipment. The new studio is expected to significantly improve opportunities for students to develop skills in digital media production, broadcasting, and content creation.

The facility will also provide media-related services for nearby islands and local institutions. The initiative aims to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing within the wider community while encouraging youth participation in modern digital media.
The studio will be jointly managed by a dedicated team from the school and UIS, with plans in place to ensure sustainability through continuous training, equipment maintenance, and potential partnerships with community organizations.

The Bank of Maldives Fund is an annual programme that selects five projects each year to receive MVR 200,000 in funding. Through this initiative, Bank of Maldives continues to support community-led projects that contribute to social development and empower local communities across the country.
