BML Unites Maldives with Eid Sai Celebrations Across 33 Islands

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 15 hours ago

Bank of Maldives (BML) has successfully hosted Eid Sai celebrations across 33 islands nationwide, marking Eid al-Fitr with a series of community-focused events aimed at bringing people together.

The celebrations were held in all atolls where the bank operates branches, reinforcing BML’s presence not only as a financial institution but also as a key contributor to community life across the Maldives.

Gathering at V. Fulidhoo

Organized in partnership with local island councils and non-governmental organizations, the Eid Sai gatherings created welcoming and inclusive spaces for families, residents, and children to celebrate the festive occasion. The events featured traditional hospitality and community interaction, reflecting the spirit of unity and togetherness associated with Eid.

BML’s initiative highlights its ongoing efforts to engage with communities beyond banking services, particularly in the outer islands. By collaborating closely with local stakeholders, the bank ensured that each event was tailored to the needs and culture of the respective islands.

Gathering at L. Fonadhoo

This year’s celebrations build on a tradition that began in 2019, with BML consistently hosting Eid Sai events across multiple islands annually. The initiative has since grown into a nationwide engagement programme, strengthening social bonds and enhancing the bank’s role in community development.

As the Maldives continues to emphasize social cohesion and inclusive growth, BML’s Eid Sai programme stands out as a key example of how corporate institutions can actively contribute to national unity during significant cultural and religious occasions.
