President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed on Friday welcomed hundreds of well-wishers to Mulee’aage, as they hosted the official Eid al-Fitr greeting ceremony in the capital, reaffirming national unity and the spirit of the festive occasion.

The traditional gathering at the President’s Official Residence brought together Cabinet Ministers, senior government officials, Members of Parliament, foreign diplomats, and members of the public, who attended to exchange Eid greetings with the Head of State and the First Lady.

The event reflected longstanding Maldivian customs, where leaders open their doors to citizens during major Islamic celebrations, fostering a sense of inclusivity and connection between the government and the public.

Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, is one of the most significant religious celebrations in the Maldives, observed nationwide with communal prayers, family gatherings, and acts of charity. The official reception at Mulee’aage remains a key highlight of the day’s national observances, symbolising unity, gratitude, and shared values across Maldivian society.
