StatePharma Launches 1505 Hotline for 24/7 Access to Critical Medicines

By Hussain Shinan Published 6 hours ago

StatePharma has introduced a 24/7 national hotline (1505) to support public access to critical medicines and essential medical supplies across the Maldives.

StatePharma, an independent state-owned enterprise established by presidential decree, operates with a dedicated mandate to strengthen the availability and accessibility of medicines nationwide.

The newly launched hotline is designed as a central point of contact for the public, allowing individuals to seek assistance in obtaining critical medicines regardless of their location.
Officials say the service addresses longstanding challenges linked to the Maldives’ geographic dispersion, where access to essential medicines can vary between islands.
Through the 1505 hotline, members of the public can:

• Seek support related to essential medical supplies
• Get general guidance on accessing medicines

The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, ensuring that support can be accessed at any time.

StatePharma Managing Director Dr. Shah Abdulla Mahir said the initiative is part of broader efforts to better understand public needs and improve service delivery.
“Ensuring consistent and reliable access to medicines remains a key priority. The 1505 hotline has been introduced as an accessible channel for the public to report any issues or share concerns, regardless of time or location,” he said.

The initial phase of the service focuses on critical medicines, with plans to expand its scope in the future.

Officials noted that the hotline is a public service available to all citizens, aimed at improving clarity, coordination, and reliability in accessing medicines across the country.
Members of the public are encouraged to call 1505 whenever assistance is needed for critical medicines and supplies.
