Abdul Matheen has stepped down from his role as Managing Director of Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC), marking another leadership change within a key state-owned enterprise.
Matheen announced his resignation through a post on social media today, though he did not disclose the reason behind his decision to leave the position.
His departure comes amid a broader wave of changes across state-owned companies following the outcome of the recent Local Council Elections held earlier this month. In the days since the polls, several adjustments have been made to senior management positions within government-linked entities.
Among those who resigned today is Faruhath Shaheer, who was serving as Managing Director of Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO).
Matheen’s exit adds to the growing list of leadership reshuffles within state enterprises, as the government continues to realign management structures in the aftermath of the elections.
