Dhiraagu Raises Over MVR 213,000 Through Ramadan Charity Initiatives

By Hussain Shinan Published 3 hours ago

Dhiraagu has raised and contributed a total of MVR 213,998 through its Ramadan initiatives, ‘Donate a Meal’ and ‘Donate to a Family’, carried out via its digital platform DhiraaguPay.

The total includes a direct contribution of MVR 180,000 from Dhiraagu, alongside additional donations made by customers who participated in the campaigns through DhiraaguPay.

As part of the ‘Donate a Meal’ initiative, Dhiraagu partnered with Mission for Migrant Workers Maldives to distribute meal packs to migrant workers near mosques across the Greater Malé region. The company contributed 1,000 meal packs to launch the programme, while Dhiraagu staff also took part in distributing the meals. Customers further supported the effort through contributions made on the platform.

Under the ‘Donate to a Family’ initiative, conducted in collaboration with Mom’s Aid, donations were directed toward a Ramadan aid programme aimed at assisting vulnerable households nationwide. Dhiraagu provided support to 100 families through care packages containing essential food items, with additional contributions from customers helping expand the reach of the initiative. The programme placed particular emphasis on supporting single mothers and families caring for children with disabilities.

Dhiraagu stated that the initiatives reflect its continued commitment to corporate social responsibility, noting that digital platforms like DhiraaguPay are being used to make charitable giving more accessible and inclusive.

The company added that such efforts aim to foster a spirit of compassion and community, bringing people together to support those in need during significant periods such as Ramadan.
