President Mohamed Muizzu has established a new “Citizens’ Complaints Bureau” within the President’s Office, aimed at providing a dedicated platform for the public to raise concerns and seek resolutions.
The bureau is designed to operate as a 24-hour service, allowing citizens to submit complaints and feedback through multiple channels. The initiative was first announced during the President’s address to the People’s Majlis on February 5.
According to the President’s Office, the bureau will manage grievances using a centralized digital system, enabling authorities to track, assess, and respond to issues more efficiently. The office will coordinate with relevant government institutions to gather information and deliver formal responses to complaints submitted by the public.
As part of its operations, the bureau will also include a round-the-clock call center, providing direct access for citizens to communicate their concerns.
Officials said preparations are currently underway to operationalize the bureau, including administrative arrangements and recruitment of staff. The service is expected to become fully functional by mid-year.
The establishment of the Citizens’ Complaints Bureau is expected to enhance public engagement and improve responsiveness within government institutions, offering citizens a more accessible and structured way to have their concerns addressed.
