BML Signs Two-Year Deal to Support WeRUN Maldives

By Hussain Shinan Published April 16, 2026

Bank of Maldives has entered into a two-year partnership with WeRUN Maldives to support a corporate relay race initiative aimed at promoting fitness and teamwork across workplaces in the country.

Under the agreement, the bank will assist in organizing and developing the event over the next two years, with the first edition scheduled to take place later this year.

The relay race is designed specifically for companies, institutions, and organizations operating in the Maldives. The format features teams of five participants, with each runner completing a one-kilometre segment, combining elements of athletic competition with corporate engagement.

Organizers say the event is intended to encourage healthier lifestyles while also providing a platform for organizations to strengthen team spirit and collaboration among employees.

The partnership reflects Bank of Maldives’ ongoing efforts to support sports and community initiatives nationwide. The bank has previously engaged in a range of programmes focused on youth development, workplace wellness, and expanding access to sporting opportunities.

Through this collaboration, both BML and WeRUN Maldives aim to create an inclusive and energetic environment that brings together the corporate community through sport.
