The Maldives Meteorological Service has warned that unstable weather conditions will persist across the country, with rain and thunderstorms expected over the next 24 hours.
According to the latest forecast, scattered showers are likely in several regions, with heavier rainfall anticipated in some islands. The current weather pattern follows a period of widespread rain that has affected multiple atolls in recent days.
Winds are expected to blow from the southwest and west at speeds of 5 to 15 miles per hour, though gusts could intensify to around 30 miles per hour during squalls. Sea conditions are forecast to remain slight to moderate, but could turn moderately rough during periods of stronger winds.
The unsettled conditions come after a White Alert was issued nationwide overnight as weather deteriorated. Authorities are advising the public, particularly seafarers, to remain cautious and stay updated on forecasts as conditions may change rapidly.
