The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has launched a nationwide competition inviting Maldivians to design the country’s official Financial Literacy Brand Identity and Mascot.
The initiative aims to establish a recognizable national identity that can strengthen financial literacy and awareness efforts across the Maldives while encouraging responsible financial behaviour among the public.
According to the MMA, participants are expected to create a complete branding system that promotes informed financial decision-making and positive money habits, particularly among youth and young adults. The competition calls for submissions that include a logo system, typography, colour palette, supporting visual elements, and a mascot designed to serve as the face of future financial literacy campaigns.
The authority said the mascot is intended to become a relatable and memorable figure that helps simplify financial concepts and encourages smarter financial choices among people of all age groups.

The winning submission will become the official financial literacy brand of the Maldives and will receive a cash prize of MVR 100,000.
Entries must be submitted electronically before 3:00 PM on June 14, 2026. Full competition guidelines and additional details are available on the MMA website.
