Here’s How You Can Win USD 1,000 with a BML Dollar Card

By Hussain Shinan Published 4 hours ago

Bank of Maldives (BML) has unveiled a new promotional campaign that gives customers the opportunity to win USD 1,000 each week simply by using a BML Dollar Debit Card for their everyday transactions.

The campaign, launched on Sunday, is set to run for seven weeks until July 30 and is aimed at encouraging greater use of the bank’s US Dollar-denominated debit cards.

According to BML, customers who obtain a newly issued Dollar Debit Card and spend at least USD 100 using the card during the promotional period will automatically qualify for weekly prize draws.

The bank said winners will be selected every week, with USD 1,000 awarded throughout the duration of the campaign.

Customers can meet the eligibility criteria through a variety of transactions, including retail shopping, online purchases, subscription payments, airline ticket bookings and payments for digital services.

The promotion comes at a time when demand for foreign currency transactions continues to grow among Maldivian consumers, particularly for online shopping, travel-related expenses and international digital platforms.

In recent months, BML has introduced several initiatives aimed at improving access to foreign currency services while encouraging customers to make greater use of dollar-based banking products.

The bank has also been promoting the use of Dollar Cards as an alternative for customers who regularly make international transactions, noting that cards linked to US Dollar accounts are not subject to some of the restrictions currently affecting certain foreign transactions conducted through Maldivian Rufiyaa accounts.

BML remains the largest bank in the Maldives, serving hundreds of thousands of customers nationwide through its extensive branch network, self-service banking facilities and digital banking platforms.

The latest promotion is expected to attract significant interest from customers who frequently use foreign currency services, with weekly winners set to receive a cash prize of USD 1,000 throughout the seven-week campaign.
