President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening state institutions, stating that efforts to improve public service delivery and enhance government institutions will continue without interruption.
The President made the remarks in a message shared on social media to mark United Nations Public Service Day, observed annually on June 23.
In his message, President Muizzu paid tribute to public servants around the world, recognizing their dedication and contribution to community development, sustainable progress and the delivery of essential services.
He noted that public institutions play a vital role in advancing societies and improving the quality of life of citizens, emphasizing that strengthening these institutions remains a key priority of his administration.
The President also expressed appreciation to public servants across the Maldives, thanking those who continue to serve the public with commitment and professionalism.
Since taking office, President Muizzu’s administration has repeatedly emphasized institutional reform, digital transformation and improving the efficiency of government services as central policy objectives. Several government agencies have undergone modernization initiatives aimed at increasing accessibility, streamlining services and improving public satisfaction.
United Nations Public Service Day is observed globally to highlight the importance of public service and recognize the contributions made by civil servants in supporting national development and community well-being.
The day also serves as a platform to promote innovation in public administration and encourage younger generations to pursue careers in government and public service.
Across the Maldives, thousands of public servants work in sectors ranging from healthcare and education to law enforcement, social services and local governance, forming the backbone of the country’s public administration system.
President Muizzu’s message comes as the government continues to pursue reforms aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of public institutions and improving the delivery of services to citizens throughout the country.
