The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) will host the Maldives Financial Expo 2026 from 2 to 4 July at Hulhumalé Central Park, marking the return of the national financial exhibition after a nine-year break.
Held under the theme, “Empowering Sustainable Futures: Inclusion, Innovation, and Intelligence,” the three-day event aims to strengthen financial literacy, promote financial inclusion and showcase the latest innovations transforming the country’s financial sector.
The expo will be open to the public daily from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will bring together commercial banks, insurance companies, finance providers, regulatory authorities and government institutions under one roof. It will provide visitors with a unique opportunity to engage directly with organisations that play a key role in the Maldivian financial system.
The event is designed to make financial services more accessible by allowing members of the public to compare products, receive expert advice and learn about services ranging from savings accounts and business financing to insurance and digital payment solutions, all in one location.
Rather than serving as a traditional exhibition, organisers say the expo will offer an interactive learning experience where visitors can speak with industry professionals, explore new financial products and gain practical knowledge to make informed financial decisions.
Alongside the public exhibition, invitation-only panel discussions will be held on 2 and 4 July for policymakers and industry leaders. The sessions will focus on emerging trends and the future direction of financial services in the Maldives.
The event will also feature entertainment throughout the three days, including live music, lucky draws, games and food stalls operated by local small businesses. A special Children’s Evening will take place on Friday, 3 July, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., introducing young visitors to basic financial concepts through educational activities.
The 2026 edition builds on the success of previous expos. The inaugural event in 2015 attracted around 2,500 visitors, while the 2017 edition, which focused on housing finance, welcomed more than 6,000 participants. This year’s exhibition has been expanded to reflect the significant growth and diversification of the Maldives’ financial sector over the past decade.
The Maldives Financial Expo 2026 is free to attend, with Hulhumalé Central Park easily accessible by ferry from Malé.
