By Ahmed Ashraf Published 10 hours ago

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Uz. Amjad Musthafa as President of the Employment Tribunal, returning him to a position he previously held in 2020.

Uz. Amjad was sworn into office during a ceremony held Tuesday morning at the President’s Office. He took the oath before Supreme Court Justice Uz. Abdulla Hameed, after which President Muizzu presented him with his official letter of appointment.

Uz. Amjad holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Shari’ah and Law from the Islamic University of Maldives and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Anglia Ruskin University. Throughout his career, he has held several senior positions in the public sector, including Vice President and Commissioner of the Elections Commission, President of the Employment Tribunal, Chief Judicial Administrator at the Department of Judicial Administration, and Board Director of the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC). He also served as a member of the Minimum Wage Advisory Board.
