Ooredoo celebrates 21 years with Truecaller Premium and exclusive rewards

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 4 hours ago

Ooredoo Maldives has unveiled a range of new digital services and customer rewards to celebrate its 21st anniversary, headlined by the launch of Truecaller Premium through direct Ooredoo billing. The company said the anniversary campaign reflects its continued commitment to expanding digital innovation and enhancing customer experiences across the Maldives.

Celebrating its anniversary on 1 August, Ooredoo highlighted its journey since becoming the Maldives’ first private telecommunications provider in 2005. Over the past two decades, the operator has introduced the country’s first 3G, 4G and 5G networks, invested in submarine cable infrastructure, expanded digital financial services, and strengthened AI-powered customer support as part of its Digital Maldives vision.

To mark the milestone, Ooredoo has introduced Truecaller Premium for its customers, allowing subscriptions to be charged directly to their Ooredoo account without the need for a separate payment method. The premium service offers advanced spam and scam protection, Incognito Mode, profile view insights, contact requests, an ad-free experience, and a Premium verification badge.

The company has also launched ChildSafe Parental Control for eligible 5G AirFibre customers. The service enables parents to manage internet access and create safer online environments for children using supported home broadband devices. As part of the anniversary celebrations, the feature will be available free of charge throughout August 2026.

Customers can also take advantage of several anniversary promotions during August, including:

  • A free 21GB data pack for eligible prepaid and postpaid customers on 1 August through the Ooredoo Super App.
  • A Mastercard promotion offering customers who spend MVR 400 or more on the Super App a chance to win return air tickets to Malaysia for two.
  • A Maldivian Airlines promotion giving prepaid customers who recharge MVR 400 or more the opportunity to win return tickets to Dhaka.
  • MVR 100 Huopan vouchers for the first 100 customers upgrading to eligible Club Premier plans.
  • Free speed upgrades for selected SuperNet Unlimited customers for three months.
  • A special SuperNet anniversary add-on offering 21GB at 21Mbps for seven days at MVR 21.

Ooredoo also announced that its annual Fun Run will return on 11 December in Hulhumalé, bringing together thousands of participants for a community fitness event.

As part of concluding its previous “Live Unlimited” anniversary campaign, the company revealed that Misriyya Ali has won the grand prize of a Hajj trip for two after 19 Umrah pilgrimages were awarded during the promotion.

Ooredoo Maldives CEO and Managing Director Shadi Qawasmi said the company remains focused on building a smarter, safer and more inclusive Digital Maldives, while continuing to invest in next-generation technologies, digital services, artificial intelligence, fintech and community initiatives that create new opportunities for individuals, businesses and communities.
