Dhiraagu concludes 20th edition of DESCUP futsal tournament

By Hussain Shinan Published 3 hours ago

Dhiraagu has concluded the 20th edition of its annual employee futsal tournament, DESCUP 2026, with more than 300 staff members taking part in this year’s competition.

Marking two decades since the tournament was introduced, this year’s DESCUP featured 19 teams competing across three leagues, bringing employees from different areas of the company together through several rounds of competition.

CNFC emerged as one of the standout teams of the tournament, winning the CEO & MD’s Cup before going on to claim the Premier League championship. The team secured the Premier League title following a closely contested final against DSS United.

The Super League title went to EOC United, who faced Finanzes in the final before securing the championship.

Female employees also competed in the Women’s Fiesta, with Finanzes taking the title after facing ROC Stars in the final.

Dhiraagu said DESCUP has developed over the years into more than an internal sporting competition, providing employees from different teams and departments with an opportunity to interact outside their day-to-day working environment.

The tournament forms part of activities conducted through Dhiraagu eClub, which organises sporting, recreational and social programmes for employees. The initiative is aimed at encouraging staff to remain active while strengthening relationships and teamwork among colleagues.

Employee sporting programmes have become an important part of workplace engagement for many organisations, offering staff an opportunity to participate in activities outside their professional responsibilities while promoting physical activity and stronger connections between teams.

For Dhiraagu, the conclusion of this year’s tournament also represents a milestone for one of its longest-running employee activities, with DESCUP now completing its 20th edition.

The company said it will continue providing opportunities for employees to participate in sports and recreational activities, with DESCUP remaining a key part of efforts to promote teamwork, friendship and a stronger sense of community within the organisation.
