A total of 57 teams are set to compete in the PUBG Mobile qualifiers for the Dhiraagu Maldives Gaming Conquest (DMGC) 2026, with matches scheduled to begin on September 20.
The qualifying tournament will offer MVR 10,000 in prize money, while 16 teams will advance to the main DMGC 2026 competition.
Those advancing from the PUBG Mobile qualifiers will later compete for a separate MVR 30,000 prize pool during the main tournament.
The qualifiers will be broadcast live through the Dhiraagu Gamers Guild (DGG) YouTube channel, allowing viewers to follow the competition online.
DMGC 2026 will feature competitions across mobile, PC and console gaming, with PUBG Mobile joined by Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Rocket League, FC26 and Tekken 8. Players competing in the different titles will progress through qualifying rounds to secure places in the main event.
This year’s DMGC carries an overall prize pool of MVR 150,000, as Dhiraagu continues to expand the tournament following the growth of its gaming community over the past two years.
DMGC has developed into one of the country’s biggest competitive gaming events. The 2025 edition attracted around 1,500 registered players from across the Maldives, including participants from different islands and atolls. Dhiraagu said more than 150 players were able to compete simultaneously through online servers during last year’s event.
The tournament forms part of Dhiraagu Gamers Guild, the company’s gaming and esports platform launched to provide local players with opportunities to compete, connect with other gamers and participate in organised tournaments.
DGG entered its second season in January this year after reporting significant growth during 2025. According to Dhiraagu, the platform had grown to more than 11,000 registered gamers by the end of last year, while MVR 350,000 was distributed through tournament prize pools and more than MVR 150,000 worth of giveaways were awarded to the gaming community. Seventeen tournaments covering 13 gaming titles were also held during the year.
Competitive gaming activities have continued throughout 2026. DGG has organised events covering titles including PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends, FC26 and Tekken 8, while a Rocket League tournament held in Hulhumalé in July brought together 20 teams and 80 players.
Dhiraagu has increasingly used DGG as a platform to support competitive gaming and esports in the Maldives, providing tournaments and other community activities for players across different gaming platforms.
