MWSC launches special discounts to celebrate showroom’s 10th anniversary

Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has launched a special two-month promotion offering discounts across a range of products and services to mark the 10th anniversary of its showroom.
The anniversary promotion began on September 29 and will continue until November 29, giving customers access to reduced prices on equipment used for water supply, sewerage and related works.
MWSC said discounts are being offered across several product categories, including water meters, pumps, water testing equipment and various tools available through the showroom.
Customers who make purchases during the promotional period will also be entered into a special anniversary draw, with grand prizes to be awarded to selected winners.
The MWSC Showroom was established in 2016 as a dedicated outlet providing customers with equipment, components and spare parts required for water and sewerage systems.
In addition to supplying equipment, the showroom provides access to specialised services offered by the company, including water analysis and testing.
The facility was introduced as part of MWSC’s efforts to make water and sewerage-related products and technical services more readily available to households, businesses, contractors and other customers.
Over the past decade, MWSC’s operations have expanded considerably beyond the Greater Malé region, with the company implementing water supply and sewerage infrastructure projects across numerous islands.
The state-owned utility is responsible for water and sewerage services in Malé and several other parts of the country, while also undertaking the design and construction of utility infrastructure nationwide.
MWSC is currently preparing for a further expansion of its operations following the government’s decision to restructure the provision of utility services previously handled by Fenaka Corporation.
Under the restructuring, MWSC is set to take responsibility for water and sewerage services in additional islands, while State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) will take over electricity services.
MWSC has already begun arrangements to assume water and sewerage operations in Addu City and Fuvahmulah, including the transfer of infrastructure, assets, customer records and ongoing projects.
The expansion comes as the company continues to invest in new water technologies and infrastructure, including plans for a deep-sea desalination system that would draw seawater from approximately 500 metres below sea level.
