MWSC warns of possible water supply interruptions in Vilimálé this afternoon

By Hussain Shinan Published 4 hours ago

Residents in parts of Vilimálé have been advised to prepare for possible disruptions to their water supply this afternoon as Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) carries out essential maintenance on the island’s water distribution network.

According to a public notice issued by the utility provider, the maintenance work is scheduled for Thursday, October 8, between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

MWSC said water services may be temporarily affected in certain areas if technical difficulties arise while the work is being carried out.

The company clarified that interruptions are not necessarily expected throughout the maintenance period, but warned customers of the possibility of disruptions as a precaution.

The scheduled work forms part of maintenance activities on the water distribution network, which is responsible for delivering water to households and businesses across the island.

MWSC said its teams would make every effort to complete the work within the scheduled timeframe and minimise any inconvenience to residents.

The company also assured customers that restoring normal water services as quickly as possible would remain a priority should any interruptions occur.

Residents in potentially affected areas may wish to make necessary arrangements ahead of the maintenance window, particularly households and businesses that depend on an uninterrupted water supply.

MWSC apologised to customers for any inconvenience caused by the work and thanked residents for their understanding.
