Ooredoo Nation has announced the return of its Inter-Office eSports Championship 2026, offering employees across the Maldives an opportunity to represent their workplaces and compete for a combined prize pool of MVR 30,000.
Registration is now open for companies nationwide, with the tournament featuring three popular competitive games: PUBG Mobile (PUBGM), Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), and EA Sports FC (EAFC).
The championship aims to bring together employees from different organisations through competitive gaming while encouraging teamwork, workplace engagement and participation in the growing Maldivian eSports community.
Each game will offer MVR 10,000 in prizes, with winners receiving cash rewards based on their final rankings.
For PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends, the championship-winning teams will receive MVR 5,000 each, while second-place teams will earn MVR 3,000 and third-place teams MVR 1,500. An additional MVR 500 will be awarded to the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in each game.
In EAFC, the winner will receive MVR 5,000, followed by MVR 3,000 for second place and MVR 2,000 for third place.
The competition will take place between late October and November, with separate registration deadlines and match schedules for each game.
Mobile Legends registration will close at 11:59 PM on October 23, with online matches beginning at 8:00 PM on October 26.
PUBG Mobile registration will remain open until 11:59 PM on October 25, while matches are scheduled to begin online at 8:00 PM on October 30.
Meanwhile, EAFC registration will close at 11:59 PM on November 1. Unlike the other two competitions, EAFC will be conducted as an in-person LAN event at Ooredoo Maldives Headquarters, beginning at 4:00 PM on November 6.
Under the tournament rules, companies can register multiple teams, provided they meet the participation requirements. Employees representing their organisations must have completed at least six months of employment.
PUBG Mobile teams may include six players, with at least four company employees and up to two external players. Mobile Legends teams can consist of seven players, including five employees and two external participants.
EAFC will feature individual competitors, all of whom must be employees of the companies they represent.
Building on the participation recorded in previous editions, Ooredoo Nation said the championship forms part of its efforts to strengthen the country’s eSports community and expand opportunities for digital entertainment.
The initiative also provides businesses with an opportunity to encourage employee interaction beyond traditional workplace activities while promoting friendly competition between organisations.
Interested companies and employees can register through the official Ooredoo Nation website at www.ooredoonation.mv.
