Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari hosted a state banquet in honour of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed on Wednesday night, marking another diplomatic engagement during the Maldivian leader’s official visit to Pakistan.
The banquet was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, the official residence of the Pakistani President, with Cabinet Ministers and senior government officials from both countries in attendance.
President Muizzu and the First Lady are in Pakistan on a three-day State Visit from 20 to 22 October 2026, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
The visit carries special significance as the Maldives and Pakistan celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations, formally established on 26 July 1966.
The occasion highlights six decades of diplomatic engagement and longstanding ties between the two countries.
