Tiny Hearts of Maldives has successfully completed its nationwide Heart Healthy Raajje project, aimed at promoting physical activity and healthier lifestyles across the country, with financial support from Bank of Maldives (BML) through its Bank Fund initiative.
The project has introduced 10 inclusive exercise videos designed to encourage people of different ages, fitness levels and physical abilities to stay active. The videos cater to children, babies, pregnant women, adults and older persons, making physical activity more accessible to communities throughout the Maldives.
Developed in accordance with the Maldives Physical Activity Guidelines (2022), the initiative encourages regular exercise and promotes healthier daily habits to help reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases, including cardiovascular conditions.

All 10 videos are available free of charge through a dedicated Instagram page and the official Tiny Hearts of Maldives website. Downloadable versions are also provided, allowing community organisations and local networks to distribute the content more widely, particularly across island communities.
The initiative supports national efforts to improve public health by encouraging people to incorporate regular physical activity into their everyday routines.
The project was funded through BML’s Bank Fund, an annual grant programme supporting registered non-governmental organisations implementing community development initiatives across the Maldives.
Under the programme, the bank selects five projects each year, providing MVR 200,000 to each organisation. This represents a total annual funding commitment of MVR 1 million towards initiatives designed to deliver meaningful benefits to local communities.
The completion of Heart Healthy Raajje highlights the role of partnerships between financial institutions and civil society organisations in promoting preventive healthcare and improving community wellbeing across the Maldives.
