Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel departed for Oman on Tuesday for an official visit, scheduled from December 10 to 13, at the invitation of Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit aims to strengthen the longstanding ties between the Maldives and Oman and explore new areas of cooperation. During the trip, Minister Khaleel is expected to engage in high-level discussions with his counterpart, Sayyid Badr, to review bilateral relations and identify opportunities for collaboration in sectors of mutual interest.
In addition to these talks, Minister Khaleel will meet with senior officials from the Omani government to explore avenues for enhancing trade, investment, and other cooperative efforts.
The visit highlights the Maldives’ commitment to deepening its relationship with Oman and fostering partnerships that benefit both nations. This initiative aligns with the Maldives’ broader foreign policy objectives of building robust and mutually advantageous international relationships.
