Following the recent fire incident, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced that the Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Construction, and Ministry of Environment will temporarily operate from a government building until a permanent solution is secured. During today’s meeting with the ministry staff, the President emphasized that these ministries will continue their operations in a government facility rather than seeking rental accommodations.
Acknowledging the significant losses from the fire, including personal belongings of the staff, the President commended the employees for their resilience and cooperation in resuming work under challenging conditions. Efforts are underway to create a conducive office environment by enhancing facilities such as toilets, cafeteria services, and essential equipment like electronics and computer systems.
The ministries have been temporarily relocated to Dharubaaruge and have successfully restarted their operations. The President assured staff that measures are being implemented in collaboration with government institutions to stabilize and support their work environment until a permanent facility is provided.
