A 48-year-old Maldivian man has been arrested for causing a public disturbance at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). The incident unfolded yesterday, leading to his detention by the police.
According to a Criminal Court order, the individual is accused of hindering police activities. Despite being advised by officers to maintain silence within the hospital premises, he allegedly used loud and abusive language, including obscenities directed at both the police and the general public.
The court documents reveal that even after being instructed to vacate the area, the man persisted in his disruptive behavior, continuing to verbally abuse and obstruct the police. Due to these actions and his previous record of arrests and detentions, the Criminal Court has mandated a five-day detention period.
