Maldives Immigration has announced efforts to deport several foreign nationals suspected of involvement in extensive prostitution activities within the nation. In a recent social media update, Immigration officials disclosed that they have been conducting targeted operations in collaboration with law enforcement to identify foreign individuals engaged in such activities.
During these operations, four foreign women and three foreign men have been detained by Immigration authorities. The detainees include four individuals from Bangladesh, two from Russia, and one from Uganda. Following a thorough investigation, two women have already been deported and banned from re-entering the Maldives. Efforts are ongoing to expedite the deportation process for the five remaining individuals.
Immigration has been actively conducting numerous operations aimed at expelling foreigners residing illegally in the Maldives. These initiatives have led to the deportation of many individuals without valid visas and those involved in criminal activities, including drug offenses, theft, and prostitution.
