The President of Estonia, Dr. Alar Karis, extended a formal welcome to the President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, and his delegation during a ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Kadriorg earlier today. The visit comes at the invitation of the Estonian President and aims to bolster cooperation between the two nations.
The ceremony featured the playing of the national anthems of both countries by the Estonian military, underscoring the spirit of diplomacy and mutual respect. Following this, Presidents Karis and Muizzu inspected the Guard of Honour, a gesture symbolizing the importance of the state visit.
As part of the event, President Muizzu was introduced to key Estonian dignitaries, while his Maldivian delegation was formally presented to President Karis. The two leaders then posed for a commemorative photograph, marking the occasion, and President Muizzu signed the Visitor’s Book at the Presidential Palace.
President Muizzu’s visit to Estonia is centered on fostering stronger bilateral ties, particularly in the areas of digital technology, cybersecurity, e-governance, climate issues, and education. These focus areas highlight shared interests and the potential for mutually beneficial partnerships between the Maldives and Estonia.

Both leaders are expected to engage in discussions aimed at exploring innovative solutions to global challenges and identifying avenues for collaboration.
