Following theft, traffic accidents were the second most reported, accounting for 231 cases. Drug-related offenses ranked third, with 137 reported incidents.

  • Theft: 273
  • Traffic accidents: 231
  • Drug-related offenses: 137
  • Lost items: 92
  • Assault: 64
  • Property damage: 67

In response to these statistics, atoll police stations are collaborating with local councils on various initiatives aimed at crime reduction. To combat theft, door-to-door programs are being conducted to raise public awareness. These efforts reflect the Maldives Police Service’s commitment to enhancing public safety and reducing crime across the nation.
