President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has extended warm greetings to the Emperor of Japan, Naruhito, Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, and the people of Japan on the occasion of Japan’s National Day.
In official letters addressed to the Emperor and Prime Minister, President Muizzu highlighted the strong and enduring friendship between the Maldives and Japan. He noted that the relationship is built on mutual respect, trust, and shared values, expressing gratitude for Japan’s continued contributions to the Maldives’ development across various sectors.
The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and fostering deeper cooperation between the two nations. He also conveyed his best wishes for the health and well-being of Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister Ishiba, as well as for the continued prosperity of the Japanese people.
Japan’s National Day, celebrated on February 23, marks the birthday of the reigning Emperor.
