After more than a decade of dedicated service, Mariyam Visam has resigned from her role as the Registrar of Companies. Visam, who was appointed on January 4, 2014, confirmed her resignation to local media tonight.
Visam holds a Master’s degree in Business Economics from the University of Queensland, Australia, and a degree in Marketing Management from Northumbria University. Before her tenure as Registrar, she served as the Director and Acting Deputy CEO of the Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA), the body responsible for overseeing the stock market. Additionally, Visam contributed her expertise as a board member of the Pension Office.
Her departure marks the end of a significant era in the Maldivian corporate sector, reflecting her extensive contributions to the nation’s financial and regulatory frameworks.
In this political rumours and crisis of unwanted bodies in the government mechanism at least should have mentioned the reason leaving the government.
