The Bank of Maldives (BML) has launched new USD banking services at Hanimaadhoo International Airport, further strengthening its nationwide network and supporting the expansion of economic activity in the northern region.
The new USD ATM and dedicated USD counter were inaugurated during the official opening ceremony of Hanimaadhoo International Airport, presided over by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. The facilities will provide travellers and businesses with convenient access to foreign currency services directly at the new international gateway.

BML’s CEO and Managing Director, Mohamed Shareef, said the initiative reflects the Bank’s ongoing commitment to accessibility and service excellence. “We are proud to extend our dollar collection services to Hanimaadhoo International Airport. Establishing the USD counter as well as the new USD ATM reaffirms our commitment to providing customers with easy access to our services to support communities across the country,” he said.
As the Maldives’ leading financial institution, BML operates the largest banking network in the nation, with 42 branches across all 20 atolls, 202 Self Service Banking Centres, 262 ATMs, and a full suite of digital banking services.

The introduction of USD services at Hanimaadhoo International Airport aligns with the Bank’s strategy to expand foreign currency access points across key travel and trade hubs, reinforcing its role in supporting national development and regional economic integration.
