Bank of Maldives (BML) has officially expanded its services across Haa Alifu Atoll with the launch of Self-Service Banking ATMs in seven inhabited islands. This marks a significant milestone for the bank as it now offers ATM services to all residential islands in the atoll.
The newly launched ATMs are now available on the islands of Utheemu, Thuraakunu, Uligan, Mulhadhoo, Maarandhoo, Thakandhoo, and Muraidhoo. The bank celebrated the launch with ceremonies attended by key officials, including the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Minister of Economic Development and Trade, and BML’s CEO and Managing Director, Mohamed Shareef, along with the bank’s Chairperson and Chief Business Officer.
During the ceremonies, Mohamed Shareef emphasized the importance of this initiative, noting, “With the launch of ATMs across Haa Alifu Atoll under our ‘Mulhi Raajje ah BML ATM’ initiative, we are immensely pleased to have made great progress in expanding access to banking across the Maldives. For individuals and businesses in Haa Alifu Atoll, this marks a transformative step, offering 24/7 access to essential banking services right on their residential island.”
This expansion is part of BML’s ongoing efforts to enhance banking accessibility throughout the country. With a network that now includes 39 branches across 20 atolls, 107 Self-Service Banking Centres, 165 ATMs, and robust digital banking services, BML is strengthening its position as the Maldives’ leading financial institution.
